"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...."

But surely not a white Halloween! We just celebrated Dan's birthday on the 3rd and would you believe the following Saturday it snows?! I knew it was going to be cold but I didn't think this early! Thankfully it was just a light dusting and it cleared quickly. The kids did manage to get a couple of snowballs made but Emma quickly gave in to the chill and was back in the house in minutes. Noah my "outdoors man," hung out as long as the snow did and can't wait for more. Words spoken too soon. We put the kids to bed last night and heard crazy tapping on all the doors and windows. Tiny little ice pellets were the culprit and eventually turned into snow. The only remnants was the small patch on the roof by Noah's window this morning. So I guess we should listen to our neighbors who keep reminding us of the importance of a snow blower! It also can't be just the 1 cycle blower but the heavy duty 2 cycle to cut the the ice. So much for just a shovel! Can't wait! Sounds like man's work to me, ( love you Daniel!) So stay warm everyone, I know my AZ family is! I'm sure there will be many more snowy pics to come :)

Tiger, your job is securely safe!

So I have to give those professional golfers some credit. They make it look like a piece of cake to hit that tiny little white ball into a tiny little hole. I always thought golf was just a great show to nap to until last week. Bob & Edna, our new friends in Iowa, were very gracious to invite us to their country club for a golfing night of fun. We played twilight along with glow ball which is a blast! I had never swung a club in my life let alone even stepped onto a course before. That was well proven the moment I took my first, second, and so on swing. The third time always seemed to be the charm. I could definitely benefit from lessons and truly learn how the game is played. I would enjoy taking some and hope to begin soon. Our night was filled with non stop laughter and some pretty awesome shots too. Not mine of course but in time I think I can get there. I related driving the golf cart to driving those little race cars at Disneyland. Good fun in itself! The best was when night fell and the sky was illuminated by what looked to be shooting stars. Nope, those were the glow in the dark golf balls. Thank God we all wore glow stick hats, necklaces what have you. I swore I was going to catch a ball with my head. Thankfully we made home with no thumps on the noggins. What a blast! Can't wait to do it again! Thanks Bob & Edna, you guys are awesome!!!!

Back to school and back to blogging :) !!!!

So I thought mom's only got upset when they take their babies off to kindergarten for the 1st time. Geesh, I'm a big baby and still shed a few tears as my 4th and 5th grader went off today! Today was the 1st day of school for Noah & Emma and fearful seems to be the most appropriate word to describe their emotions. I have to admit I shared that same feeling as they headed into a whole new world for them. To see these kiddos stare into a sea of unknown faces made me a bit nervous but I know it will all work out. I get to brag for a bit and just say I have such amazing children and know they will have new friends in no time! This year will be different from their familiar Cottonwood but I have no fear they will love the new school just as much.

Iowa State Fair

Let's just say that was the most interesting people watching I've done in quite some time. I wish I could share more pictures but I felt the people would frown upon me asking for their photo. You had your typical "Carnie Workers" minus a few teeth and the usual "Worst Dressed Awards" victims. Our time at the fair was short lived due to the torrential down pours and being soaked. We did manage a few rides like the "Ring of Fire" and the "Sea Dragon" but the best ride was the one in the car out of the fairgrounds!
